The James N. Kirby Foundation continues to seek on-line submissions for Small or Large Grants each year that will be assessed by the Board of Directors at the annual grants meeting held in May.
Applications for Small Grants are open each year from 1 November to 28 February 5pm ESDT. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their grant request within a month of the Board Meeting, held in May. Please note: It is preferable for applicants to apply early rather than leaving it to the closing date deadline.
Small Grants are the most popular bracket of funding – either requested from applicants or eventually distributed by the James N. Kirby Foundation.
Applications for this funding category must include the following three items:
Applications for Large Grants require a more extensive assessment process with greater scrutiny. The Foundation has an internal system whereby grantees are identified, researched, then interviewed before being shortlisted for final selection. Generally, more detailed proposals are presented during the financial year, before a Large Grant submission is made on-line, before being finally assessed at the board meeting held in May each year.
Large Grants must be pre-authorised in order to proceed to an on-line application. If you attempt to apply for a Large Grant and do not have prior approval, your application will immediately be rejected, and all future applications, either Large or Small, will not be considered by the James N. Kirby Foundation.
